Spalding students, faculty and staff give their time and talent to over two hundred organizations and institutions throughout the academic year. The holidays are no exception. Student groups and departments from across campus organize various holiday giving programs to support the fundraising efforts of community partners. This year, a few of the organizations that received donations or volunteer hours from Spalding included the Home of the Innocents, Dare-to-Care, Family Scholar House and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana. Participants in the holiday giving spanned from the athletics department and business office to the College of Education and School of Nursing.
Over 40 student-athletes and several coaches from the athletic department participated in the gift wrapping event hosted by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana (BGCK) on Dec. 15. Each athletic team that was represented also sponsored a child for the holidays. According to Kelly Jarboe, vice president of development and communications at BGCK, “Having Spalding coached and student-athletes at the Christmas wrapping event was absolutely amazing. They are a wonderful and hard-working group, and we are so appreciative of their help.”
