Dr. Jay Miller, a faculty member in the School of Social Work, has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Social Work. The announcement was made in an executive order released by Governor Steve Beshear on November 15. The Board of Social Work administers statutory regulations related to social work practice throughout the state. Additionally, the board reviews and licenses qualified candidates for social work practice and prosecutes violators of state laws and regulations pertaining to social work practice.
“Serving on the Kentucky Board of Social Work is a great honor,” says Dr. Miller. “The board performs the very necessary function of regulating the practice of social work throughout Kentucky, thus, ensuring quality, competent social work services. I am really excited about being able to serve the profession in this capacity.”
