Compassion in the World’s Religions is a series sponsored by Spalding University’s Diversity Consciousness Action Group, Interfaith Paths to Peace, and Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church.

Each session will focus on one of the world’s great religions, providing an overview of its history, key beliefs, and practices, followed by a discussion of that religion’s teachings related to compassion.  These informative presentations will be led by local representatives of the religion along with Terry Taylor, director of Louisville’s Interfaith Paths to Peace.  The presentation on “Religion in America” on Feb. 21 will be Spalding’s 2013 Keenan Lecture given by the Rev. Dr. Marian McClure Taylor, Executive Director of the Kentucky Council of Churches.

Sessions will take place at Spalding University in the ELC Lectorium, corner of 4^th and Breckinridge Streets.  Parking is available in Spalding lots off of Third Street, Fourth Street, and Breckinridge.

*Each Sunday either before or after the sessions at Spalding, a short presentation will be made at the 11 a.m. service at Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church, 4936 Brownsboro Road.  These services will also include music from the religion or topic that is featured.
