VIDEO CONFERENCE

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is now estimated to occur in 1 out of every 88 individuals according to latest reports from the CDC. Many ineffective and sometimes harmful techniques are promoted on the Internet as benefiting this population. This seminar is designed to give participants information about the meaning of the “spectrum” of ASD, including the range of definitions and characteristics to utilize in assessments. In addition, the seminar will outline the need for effective clinical and family-based interventions for this population, and enable the professional practitioner, educator or parent to base therapy and social skill training on “evidence-based practices” for individuals with ASD. Specifically, the seminar will offer related clinical and education human service care providers and parents with practical strategies they can use in the home, school, and community to assist individuals with ASD across the life-span.
