This course provides an overview of:
- Approaches to understanding chemical dependence.
- Emphasizing social psychological processes, it also considers the role of biological factors in chemical dependence.
- Analyzes how such behaviors are taken up, how they become difficult and hard to control and finally, the processes involved in change.
- Learning to be exposed to the various modalities of treatment for chemical dependency in individual counseling and to practice these approaches and receive feedback from peers.
