On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the Presidential Search Committee, I would like to provide you with an update regarding the most recent activities since my last posted message on September 15.
On Wednesday and Thursday of last week, September 23 – 24, two representatives, Richard Allen and Kate Nolde, from our selected search firm, RPA Inc., visited our campus. Listening sessions were scheduled across campus on those two days to give all members of the Spalding community the opportunity to share individual insights and opinions regarding the development of a profile for the ideal candidate for the presidency. Attendance at the sessions was strong, and we were so pleased that so many members of the Spalding community were able to participate in the sessions. As a result, RPA was able to garner important information essential to the development of a Presidential Prospectus which will be made available in print and posted on the Presidential Search section of the Spalding University website. The Presidential Prospectus will be used to recruit the candidacies of those individuals that will best fit the needs and mission of our academic community.
RPA indicated that they were quite impressed with the degree of participation and enthusiasm expressed by the various constituencies across the Spalding campus. One feature that they noted in particular was the strong sense of mission shared by all members of the Spalding community.
If you did not have the opportunity to attend one of the many listening sessions held last week, and you would still like to give your input, we invite you to contact Richard and Kate at email@rpainc.org.
We are very excited to have begun our search and look forward to seeing it progress. Attached you will find a summary of the search process, prepared by RPA that outlines the four phases for recruiting the Tenth President of Spalding University. As additional information becomes available I will continue to provide you with updates on our University website.
