On Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Spalding University baseball team, dressed in uniform, will be going door-to-door, meeting neighbors and passing out team schedules to residents and businesses of the Camp Taylor neighborhood and the area surrounding Derby City Field—the team’s home playing field. Spalding University’s baseball team will  introduce residents to Spalding’s baseball program and to recruit new fans to their home games. In addition to handing out home schedules, the team will pass out and vouchers for a free hot dog at the games. Head coach Jeremy Sheetinger says, “We want to rally the businesses and neighbors in the area and encourage them to attend our home games at Derby City Field. It’s a great way for families to get to know their neighbors and support the Golden Eagles at the same time. As a relatively new member to NCAA Division III, there is a lot of excitement surrounding our program and our players. We look forward to getting to know our neighbors and new fans. ” Admission to all home games is free. See a full baseball schedule here.
