Student-Athletes Give Back During the Holiday Season

Twenty-five Spalding University student-athletes and administrators volunteered time on December 14 to help with the Home of the Innocents “That’s A Wrap” event.

The volunteers helped wrap gifts for 67 kids who reside and/or receive the organization’s services.

“It was great for Spalding Athletics to have the opportunity to volunteer at the Home of the Innocents,” says Adam Boyer, head men’s soccer coach. “Between our twenty five student-athletes and our coaches, we were able to help wrap gifts and organize the warehouse for the holidays. It was a rewarding experience for our players and staff, as well as a great chance for our university and athletic department to give back to the community.”

Louisville’s Home of the Innocents mission is to provide skills and opportunities to vulnerable children, youth, and their families. Last year home of the innocents served nearly 2,000 children and families in the city of Louisville.

Home of the Innocents will be holding more “That’s A Wrap” events open to volunteers on December 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
