Celeste YoungCeleste Young – Whitmer
Finance Analyst
Brown Forman

I have worked at Brown-Forman for the past thirteen years.  For the past three years as a Financial Analyst in Accounting.  Previously, as a Marketing Administrator for the Jack Daniel’s brand family.  Last year I was nominated for and was voted Secretary of GROW (a Women’s ERG program) at Brown-Forman.

When my daughter was a young teenager, I decided to go back to college to finish and earn a degree.  I had heard about Spalding’s condensed program focused on full time employees and thought the school would be a great fit for me and my busy lifestyle.  I received my Bachelors degree in Accounting at Spalding in 2007.  Later, I received my Masters in Business Administration at Bellarmine in 2009.

I am looking to get more involved in the community and understand more about Spalding University.  I would like to become a part of the advisory board to have a better understanding of the issues the university faces and to be a part of the efforts to help the organization grow.

I am a mother of one daughter, age 23 who is a student at the University of Louisville, and two active step-children, ages 15 and 13.  My hobbies include a variety of exercises – running, weights, and hot yoga.  As well as re-decorating the house.  My husband particularly enjoys the latter as it requires shopping.

I have previously been involved in organizations such as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Junior Achievement.  I feel strongly that education is power and in issues regarding finding a cure for those with Type 1diabetes.
