MFA students may apply online. If you choose, you can start your application now and finish it later. The application asks you to list all colleges you have attended and the dates you attended, as well as your work experience.
When asked what program you are applying to, choose Master of Fine Arts in Writing and your main area of concentration, even if you apply in more than one area. Remember, MFA students DO NOT have to take the GRE.
You may list any publication or prize information in the “academic honors” section, or you may include this information in essay 2 (your background essay).
Within a few hours of beginning the application, you will be sent an email with a web address and application number that allows you to return to the site and edit or complete your application.
After completing all sections, click Submit. You may print out a copy of the application. The MFA Program does not confirm receipt of application materials, but the university will contact you by email to let you know we have received your online application form.
To pay your $30 application fee by credit card, you may call 800-896-8941 ext. 4232 (Sarah West) or ext. 4231 (Kathy McVay) or call 502-873-4232 or 502-873-4231.
