What is the SSW Social Work Practitioner of the Year Award?

This award serves to recognize the significant contributions of a social worker in our community. The award recipient will epitomize exemplary social work values and demonstrate an exceptional commitment to professional social work practice.

Who can be nominated for the Social Work Practitioner of the Year Award?

Nominees of this award must be employed in the Kentuckiana area.

Nominees can work in any field of social work, with any client population (e.g., individual, family, group work, community work, policy, management/administration, research/program evaluation, etc.).

Nominees should demonstrate, through their social work practice, significant investment and contributions to the client population(s) that they serve.

How can I nominate someone for the Social Work Practitioner of the Year Award?

Anyone can nominate a social worker for this award, however, you may only nominate ONE (1) social worker. Please, obtain the person’s permission BEFORE you nominate them. If you nominate someone for this award, you are expected to attend the presentation ceremony during the Community Celebration of Social Work, on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 4:00 -6:00 PM at Spalding University.

ALL NOMINATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY March 1, 2015.

How will the award recipient be selected?

Up to the three finalists for the award will be selected by the SSW Awards Committee. These finalists will be recognized at the presentation ceremony. The award recipient will be announced at the ceremony and will be presented with the Social Work Practitioner of the Year Award and a $500 cash prize!
