In celebration of African American History Month, the Diversity Consciousness Action Group (DCAG) at Spalding University will host a viewing and discussion of the film “Fruitvale Station” at 6 p.m. on February 24 in the Egan Leadership Center Lectorium (901 S. Fourth St.) “Fruitvale Station” is a film about the murder of Oscar Grant in 2009 by Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Police Department officer in Oakland, Calif. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and Best First Film at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. The event sponsored by DCAG aims to promote an open community discussion. This event is free and open to the public.
