Caritas Award

The distinguished Caritas Award Medal is the highest award presented by the University to an alumna or alumnus of Spalding University or Nazareth College. The term Caritas comes from “Caritas Christi Urget Nos” (The Charity of Christ Urges Us), the motto of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. The honor embodies the philosophy, mission, and tradition at Spalding University.

The Caritas Medal is presented annually to a graduate who, within her/his community or on a national or international level, has made a significant contribution in some field (professional, cultural, religious, etc.) and who manifests the qualities encompassed in the ideal of charity.
