Spalding University Grant for Summer Healthcare Career Bridge Program

This program is designed to introduce prospective college students to the exciting and rewarding world of healthcare careers. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, shadow professionals in the field, and attend career workshops in collaboration with area healthcare providers.

Key Program Features:

• Interactive Learning: Hands-on experiences in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Health Science, Natural Science, and Athletic Training.
• Career Exploration: Shadowing and networking opportunities with healthcare professionals.
• Academic Support: Up to two required courses covered by the grant for Kentucky residents.
• Financial Assistance: Participants receive a bookstore stipend and a free tablet for academic support.
• College Readiness: Exposure to college life and resources that promote long-term success.

The Summer Bridge Program is designed for low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students who are considering a career in healthcare. Past participants have demonstrated exceptional success, with over 95% remaining enrolled in college, achieving high GPAs, and working with long-term success coaches to achieve their academic and professional goals.

By providing foundational knowledge and strategies for success, we help students build the skills and confidence to thrive in college and their future healthcare careers.”
