COVID-19 Exposure

Regardless of your vaccination status you need to:

• Take Precautions
  • Wear a mask for 10 days if you are exposed. Day ZERO is the day you were exposed and Day ONE is the first full day after the last exposure.
  • Try to avoid being around people who are more likely to get very sick from COVID
• Watch for Symptoms
• Get tested
  • Get tested at least 5 full days after your last exposure
  • If you test negative continue to take precautions through day 10
  • If you test positive isolate immediately
• If you develop symptoms
  • Isolate immediately and Call the Eagle Care Clinic at (502) 873-4255
  • Stay at home until you know test results

Report your result to the Eagle Care Clinic at (502) 873-4255.

Isolation Guidelines

• Stay at home for at least FIVE (5) days and isolate from others (even in your own home)
• Wear a high-quality mask if you must be around others (N95)
• Monitor your symptoms
  • You may end isolation after day FIVE (5) if you never had symptoms
  • If you had symptoms you may end isolation after day FIVE (5) if you are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicines and your symptoms are improving
  • If you had severe illness you are required to isolate for TEN (10) days
• Regardless of when you end isolation, avoid being around people who are more likely to get very sick from COVID until at least day eleven
• After you end isolation wear a well-fitting mask (N95) for through day TEN (10)
• IF COVID symptoms recur or worsen after you end isolation, restart isolation at day ZERO

How to Determine Isolation Dates

• If you never had symptoms:
  • Day ZERO (0) is the day you were tested
  • Day ONE (1) in the first full day following the day you were tested
• If you had symptoms:
  • Day ZERO (0) of isolation is the day of symptoms onset, regardless of when you tested positive
  • Day ONE (1) is the first full day after the day your symptoms started

• Fever or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• New loss of taste or smell
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Nausea or vomiting
• Diarrhea

Isolation rooms are provided for on-campus residents on a space-available basis. If space is not available, you be required to isolate off campus at your own cost. Residential students in isolation on campus will be provided meal deliver from the Spalding University café and can order items from the Campus Store for delivery by emailing [email protected].

If you have misplaced your COVID-19 vaccination card, you may request your vaccination record through the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness by calling (502) 912-8515. If you got the vaccine outside of Kentucky and the Louisville health department is unable to access your vaccine records, try contacting the county health department where you were vaccinated or the specific provider/location where you received the vaccine.
