Opportunities to Give Back

There are many ways to make a gift to Spalding University, with payment in full at the time of the gift, a pledge to be paid in installments, or a planned or deferred gift. We would be happy to discuss with you the method that best fits your philanthropic goals and your financial situation.

All gifts, large and small, combine to provide a powerful source of support to provide the opportunities and enhancements that make a Spalding education an extraordinary experience for students.

AmazonSmile is a simple way to support Spalding every time you shop. A portion of every purchase is donated to Spalding when you designate the university as your charitable organization. Set up Amazon Smile today.

Kroger Community Awards

Kroger gives back to Spalding for purchases you make at Kroger when you swipe your Plus Card. Sign up for Kroger Community Awards and select Spalding as your community organization.

Ride with Pride

Show your Spalding pride with a Spalding license plate. The plate costs $44 ($31 to renew) and $10 of that amount goes to Spalding’s scholarship fund. For more information, visit Motor Vehicle Licensing (where you can preview your personalized plate) or contact  Brittany Goode in the Office of Advancement.

Gifts of Cash

Cash gifts, whether made with currency, check, or by charge card, make an immediate impact on Spalding University. Checks should be made payable to Spalding University.

Silent Auction

Silent Auctions are vitally important fundraising tools for Spalding University. We are always seeking new support through donated items. Your generous gift of an auction item will help the future of Spalding University students. The item(s) that you contribute will be considered tax exempt contributions to Spalding University and auctioned off, beginning at the monetary value you establish. Use our online form to make a silent auction donation.

Spalding University is honored to offer donors the opportunity to create named scholarship funds in support of our students.

Named scholarship funds can be named for the donor themselves, their company or business, their family, or a loved one.  This naming opportunity can provide donors with a visible means of demonstrating their personal commitment to higher education or a very special tribute to a loved one.  Learn more about the many opportunities on how to make a scholarship gift.

Gifts of Stock

Donating stocks or other securities is another way to support the important work of Spalding University, without impacting your cash reserves. Donations of stocks or securities that have been held long-term (currently defined by the IRS as one year or more) can result in a significant tax break for the donors: appreciated stocks that are donated after being held for a year or more avoid capital gains tax, and may qualify for a deduction for the full value of the gift. Gifts of stock may be transferred electronically, providing additional convenience for you. You or your investment advisor may contact us or call (502) 585-7103.

Gifts of Real Estate or Personal Property

Gifts of tangible assets (property, homes, antiques, artwork, etc) may be donated to Spalding University, relieving you of property that no longer fits the needs of your lifestyle, while offering a substantial opportunity to support Spalding.

Some restrictions do apply to these types of gifts, so we ask that you contact Office of Advancement at (502) 585-7103 before making your donation, in order to assure that your generosity may accomplish what you envision.

Planned or Deferred Gifts

The ultimate expression of belief in an institution and its mission is a gift that will live beyond the donor’s lifetime. Bequests, trusts, annuities, and insurance policies can protect your estate and minimize estate taxes, provide lifetime income for you or your heirs, and reduce your current tax burden, all while benefiting Spalding University. We would be happy to talk to you and your investment advisor or estate planner to explore options that will allow you to make the gift of a lifetime to support Spalding.
