Ollie's Trolley

Our second favorite “Ollie,” next to our mascot Ollie the Eagle, is Ollie’s Trolley. Ask any native Louisvillian and he or she will tell you their fond memories of good ole Ollie’s Trolley! “It’s a fun nostalgic place that takes you back to your childhood,” says Deanna Kirby, Housing Program Assistant. “You have to try an Ollie Burger!”

A cheap and grab-and-go option close to campus! You won’t be disappointed. Burgers, hot dogs, fries– come and get it.

Let’s travel back in time to the 1950s! Dizzy Whizz is an old-fashioned dine-in or drive-in diner with a variety of options. For a nostalgic experience, order a double-decker burger, fries, and a cold coke delivered car side. This cash-only establishment won’t break the bank.

This coffee space has all the perks! The Old Louisville Coffee Co-op is a queer worker-owned community with late-night hours. What sets this place apart from other coffee shops is their commitment to sustainability, diversity, and community. “One of my favorite things to order is the cocoa and toast combo. They make all their flavors from scratch and put a lot of care into every drink,” says Jackson Kinkead, Social Media and PR specialist. “They also have small music shows! I highly recommend everyone to check this place out.”

Come on by to this supportive, diverse, and sustainable coffee co-op! For the early birds and night owls, there’s something for everyone.

Taco about a good time! If you need an upgrade from Taco Bell but don’t want to break the bank, come check this place out.

We’re shifting into soup mode. As we manifest fall weather, head on down to The Cafe for the best soups, salads, and sandwiches with unique flavors. The sun shines bright on the “Stephen Foster” sandwich and other Kentucky favorite’s such as the “Hot Brown.”

College Street Cafe at Spalding University

Last but not least the College Street Cafe! The easiest and fastest choice for our students-on-the-go or a break in between classes. The menu offers a range of options, from fish to tacos, pasta to sandwiches, chicken to burgers.

Thanks to incredible chefs Brian and Omar for their feel-good meals and welcoming dining hall experience. It’s a great place to meet staff, faculty and students! Be sure to check the holiday schedule and inclement weather updates on the Spalding Dining Hall Services page.

The College Street Cafe is open to the public and accepts cash or card. Students can use their university meal plan to save money, get a big meal, and get “grab n go” snacks.

Fall 2022 Schedule:
LUNCH: Monday – Saturday*, 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
GRAB and GO: Monday – Thursday, 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.
DINNER: Monday – Thursday, 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
BRUNCH: Sunday, 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
*Saturday service includes soup of the day, salads and sandwiches
