Pamela Dodson, MSN(c), BSN, RN is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Spalding University, where she teaches medical sutgical nursing in the undergrate BSN and accelerated BSN programs, and a practicing registered nurse in the Surgical Oncology Intensive Care Unit at Norton Healthcare. Her clinical background is in critical care nursing, with experience caring for high-acuity adult patients.
She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McKendree University. She will complete her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Education at Bellarmine University in Summer 2026 and will begin the PhD in Health Professions Education at Bellarmine in Fall 2026.
Prior to joining Spalding, Pamela taught in associate degree nursing education, where she played an active role in curriculum development, ACEN reaccreditation work, preceptorship coordination, and the launch of student success initiatives designed to support nursing student retention and progression.
Pamela’s teaching and scholarly interests include civility in undergraduate nursing education, active learning, simulation, and personalized remediation strategies that use student exam analytics—particularly Bloom’s taxonomy levels and NCLEX categories—to identify learning needs and support student success. She is especially interested in using individualized performance data to strengthen clinical judgment, improve NCLEX readiness, and promote more effective, student-centered approaches to nursing education. These interests will serve as a foundation for her future doctoral scholarship.
In addition to her work in nursing education and clinical practice, Pamela serves as Family Minister at Living Faith Baptist Fellowship, where she supports children, youth, and families through ministry, discipleship, and community engagement.
