About Laura
Dr. Laura Strickland taught in the Auerbach School of Occupational Therapy from January 1997 – August 2023. She received her BS in Occupational Therapy degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She holds a Master of Arts in Behavioral Health from the University of Houston, a Master of Health Science from the University of Florida, and a Doctorate in Leadership from Spalding University. Dr. Laura served on the Kentucky Board of Licensure in Occupational Therapy for over 12 years, and she holds an advanced certification as a lymphedema therapist and is a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association. During her tenure at Spalding University, she served in multiple leadership roles including Program Chair of the Auerbach School of Occupational Therapy and Associate Dean of the Kosair College of Health and Natural Sciences. Dr. Laura enjoyed teaching ethics, management, and leadership courses, and remains passionate about her role in supporting and guiding ASOT graduates in their journey to successfully complete the NBCOT OTR® Certification Examination.
