About Lisa

Lisa Bash-DeFrees is entering her 21st year in the in SU Athletic Department. Bash-DeFrees has been an integral component in Spalding’s transition to the NCAA and growth to 19 sports serving in a multitude of roles within athletic department. She is the Associate Athletic Director and the Senior Woman Administrator. She assists in the daily operations of the department, helps to oversee fundraising, marketing, budgetary matters, compliance, competition, game administration, and needs of the coaches and student athletes.

Lisa is a native of Louisville, Kentucky and 1989 graduate of Presentation Academy in downtown Louisville. Bash-DeFrees is a 1994 graduate of the Social Work program at Spalding University and a 1996 graduate of the Master’s in Social Work program at the University of Louisville. She resides in Jeffersonville, Ind. with her husband Thomas E. DeFrees Jr.
