Odalis Romero, Ph.D., LMHC, ACS, NCC, CCTP, ASDCS is an assistant professor at Spalding University. After spending more than 15 years in exceptional student education, she transitioned into counseling to support individuals and families impacted by trauma, autism, disability, and life challenges. Dr. Romero earned her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Liberty University and is a licensed counselor in Florida, Indiana, and Iowa. In addition to teaching, she maintains a bilingual counseling practice and provides clinical supervision in both English and Spanish. Her research interests include multicultural counseling, trauma, disability, neurodivergence, women mental health, and bilingual supervision/counseling. Dr. Romero is especially passionate about supporting the blind and visually impaired community and increasing access to culturally responsive mental health services to all, especially the Latinx community. She enjoys mentoring future counselors and counselor educators, helping students grow in both their professional identity and research abilities. Outside of teaching, supervising, mentoring, and research, she enjoys nature walks, creative writing, and time with her family.->
