About Richard

Rick Hudson holds a Doctor of Philosophy in counseling psychology from the University of Louisville where his dissertation focused on the promotion of social interactions between individuals with autism and their co-workers in employment settings. He completed his predoctoral internship at the Counseling and Psychological Services Center at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. He also holds a Master in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Kentucky and a master’s in counseling from the University of Louisville. He has worked in student affairs settings, at university counseling centers, in community mental health contexts, as the clinical director at the Kentucky Autism Center, and as a counselor for the Kentucky Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. Rick is in an active private practice where he specializes in working with clients mostly with adults with ADHD, and Autism,. Rick practices primarily from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy orientation and his research interests include the intersection of media, art, hobbies, and their therapeutic application through ‘Geek Therapy’.
