Sam’s recent feature, Seaside, a revenge thriller starring Ariana DeBose, won the Best Feature Jury Award at the Klamath Independent Film Festival and the Yale in Hollywood Film Festival and is streaming now on Amazon. His first feature, You Belong to Me, was shortlisted for the Independent Spirit Award’s Someone to Watch Award and screened at Frameline, Outfest, Palm Springs, San Diego FilmOut (Audience Award, Best First Feature), and NewFest (Honorable Mention). Sam has directed on true crime shows, A Crime to Remember and I, Witness (Discovery ID). His short, How to Make It to the Promised Land, was funded by the Jerome Foundation. Residencies: the MacDowell Colony, VCCA, and Fundación Valparaiso. He holds an MFA in film from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and BA from Yale University.
