Student Grievance Procedure

Any student enrolled in the Spalding University Radiologic Technology Program may file a grievance in accordance with this policy as a means of presenting a complaint and seeking resolution.

Steps

1. The student should first attempt to resolve the issue directly with the individual(s) involved. In most cases, concerns can be resolved satisfactorily through open communication among all parties.
2. If the issue is not resolved, the student must submit a written grievance to the Program Director within three (3) business days of the action or incident giving rise to the complaint.
   • A meeting will be scheduled between the student and the Program Director to discuss the grievance. A written decision will be provided following the meeting.
3. If the student believes the decision is unjust, or if the grievance involves the Program Director, the student may submit a written appeal within three (3) business days to the Dean of the College of Health and Natural Sciences (or the appropriate academic administrator designated by Spalding University).
   • A meeting will be scheduled to review the grievance, and a written decision will be provided following the meeting.
4. If the student remains dissatisfied with the outcome of Steps One through Three, the student may pursue the University’s formal grievance process by submitting a written request for review through the appropriate Spalding University student grievance or academic appeals procedures.
   • The designated University representative(s) or committee will review the grievance, meet with the involved parties as appropriate, and consider all relevant information.
   • The review will be conducted in accordance with applicable Spalding University policies, procedures, and student handbook provisions.
   • A final written decision will be provided to all parties involved. This decision will constitute the University’s final resolution of the grievance.

JRCERT-Related Complaints

Students should follow the grievance procedure outlined above to address concerns related to the Radiologic Technology Program. If a student believes the program is not in compliance with JRCERT Standards, and the concern cannot be resolved through established institutional procedures, the student may contact the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) using the complaint process outlined on the JRCERT website.
