The applicant must be between the ages of 16 and 25 at the time of the application and demonstrate substantial financial need. Lavina Michl Wright Scholarship

Louisville Metro Housing Scholarship

To participate, students must live in a public housing development or receive Section 8 assistance from the Louisville Metro Housing Authority. Scholarships are awarded based upon a student’s GPA, financial need, other financial aid, written essay and an interview process. College students must maintain at least a 2.5 and must be enrolled full time.

National Merit Scholarship Corporation

We conduct the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an annual academic competition for recognition and college undergraduate scholarships. High school students enter the program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements.

Eight & Forty Lung and Respiratory Disease Nursing Scholarship Fund

The Eight and Forty Lung and Respiratory Disease Nursing Scholarship was established to assist registered nurses with advanced preparation for positions in supervision, administration or teaching. Students must have employment prospects in specific positions in hospitals, clinics or health departments upon completion of their education, and the position must have a full-time and direct relationship to pediatric lung and respiratory control. Applicants must have a current registered nurse license.

The Healthline and The Nature Conservancy Stronger Scholarship

This award is for students who are committed to making a difference at the intersection of health and climate change through their studies, extracurriculars, and career goals. Applicants must be college juniors, college seniors, or graduate students at an accredited U.S. institution as of fall 2022. There is no GPA requirement, however an essay is required in order to explain the work you are doing through your extracurriculars and experiences related to health and climate change.

Loren Richards Elder Care Scholarship

Award amount: $2,000 (renewable for one additional year of undergraduate study)

Established in 2008 by the children of Loren Richards in memory of their father. The scholarship is offered to students pursuing a degree in a field of study (i.e., nursing, medicine, science, nutrition, physical therapy, etc.) that will prepare them for a career that will have direct impact on the elderly population.

Criteria

  • Must have a career goal of providing competent, compassionate care to the elderly
  • Must be a current undergraduate student who will be enrolled full-time as a junior or senior in the upcoming academic year at an accredited four-year college or university in Kentucky
  • Must be pursuing a four-year degree that will prepare them for a career that will have direct impact on the elderly population (including, but not limited to, nursing, medicine, science, nutrition, physical therapy, social work, etc.)
  • Must meet one or more of the following qualifications:
    •  First-generation college student
    • Single Parent
    • Nontraditional student (student has taken time off high school before attending college and is older than 23)
