Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) provides funding for nursing degrees by determining a student’s eligibility for federal grants, loans, and work-study programs. The FAFSA is required for admission to Spalding University.

Spalding University has received a grant from Department of Labor (DOL) to expand clinical training of future nurses and increase the number of practicing nurses in Kentuckiana. The student must commit to becoming a preceptor upon graduation. Please reach out to Financial Aid office for details.

AACN provides access to numerous nursing scholarships for nursing students at various levels of nursing education.

Spalding offers this scholarship to a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student. Major in a field directly related to nursing. Demonstrate financial need. Attend or plan to attend full time at the university. Please reach out to Financial Aid office for details.

The Baptist Healthcare Nursing Knowledge Program is an employee incentive designed to support development of BSN nursing professionals within the Baptist Healthcare system.

The Health Resources and Services Administration’s Nurse Corps Scholarship Program offers scholarships to nursing students in exchange for a commitment to serve in underserved communities. Spalding is one of HRSA education sites and is located in designated underserved community area.

An essay-based scholarship for students in a qualified healthcare related program. Can only apply once per year. Please reach out to Financial Aid office for details.

Kentucky Board of Nursing’s Nursing Incentive Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance for students interested in becoming nurses in Kentucky. The program aims to increase the number of qualified nurses in the Commonwealth by offering scholarships to individuals pursuing nursing education.

Established in 2008 by the children of Loren Richards in memory of their father. The scholarship is offered to students pursuing a degree in a field of study (i.e., nursing, medicine, science, nutrition, physical therapy, etc.) that will prepare them for a career that will have direct impact on the elderly population. The Norton Scholars Program, offered by Norton Healthcare, provides scholarships to students pursuing healthcare careers. Recipients commit to working at Norton Healthcare facilities after graduation.

Annual scholarship for an undergraduate pursuing a career in healthcare and a graduate student pursuing a career in medicine, nursing, and/or public health. Please reach out to Financial Aid office for details.

Scholarship for full time students pursuing a degree in the medical profession. The requirements are that a student must be a female resident of State of Kentucky with at least 2.0 GPA and attending university as a full time student seeking medical profession degree. Please reach out to Financial Aid office for details.

The Legacy Scholarship at Spalding University is provided through the Legacy Foundation of Kentuckiana grant to help with nursing degree cost. There is no work requirement after graduation. Please be advised, a student must be admitted to the nursing program to be approved for and awarded this scholarship. Please reach out to Financial Aid office for details.

UK Healthcare Nursing Educational Award is a UK Healthcare educational incentive designated to increase number of registered nurses at UK Healthcare. For each semester of support received there is a 6 month of employment commitment with UK Healthcare.

The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs’ Health Professional Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students pursuing healthcare degrees in various disciplines. If scholarship is received, recipients commit to serving in VA healthcare facilities after graduation.
