Make an impact. Earn your DSW.
Transform the spaces where you work and live with a doctorate in social work from Spalding University. At Spalding, we've created a Doctor of Social Work program designed to cause a ripple effect. It begins with a space where you and your uniqueness are valued. A place where your voice will be heard and you can elevate your practice and become a trauma-informed leader. Subsequently, it extends to the organizations and neighborhoods where you work and live as you diversify the face of leadership and move communities into spaces of healing engagement. So, if you desire to make waves and create positive disruption in the field of social work, we're here to lift you up with high-quality, doctoral-level training in a diverse, supportive learning community.
Convenient and accessible
Our DSW program is a convenient, accessible, affordable and ground-breaking doctoral degree for social work practitioners and educators.
If you are a master’s level social worker who wants to advance your clinical practice, develop organizational leadership or gain the skill and credentials needed to teach in higher education, we offer two tracks of study to meet your needs:
- Advanced clinical practice
- Leadership and administration
You won’t have to sacrifice what’s important to you to be an agent of change with our 48-credit hour, low-residency format.
You can successfully balance life’s responsibilities. The majority of our coursework will take place online. One Saturday per course, you’ll join your cohort on campus for engaging, experiential workshops and discussion.
In addition to an affordable tuition rate, we also offer a 10% tuition discount to alumni of Spalding University.
Meet the needs of the times
As a graduate of our program, you’ll have the preparation and professional development to give you an edge among other doctorally-prepared social workers.
You’ll be a vibrant voice in your community, ready to meet the needs of the times in places of trauma and in organizations and universities where there are great disparities in brown, black and LGBTQ people.
Work alongside a diverse, qualified faculty of academics, researchers and practitioners as you:
- Build your curriculum vitae with summer research and scholarly publication.
- Engage in teaching fellowships and graduate assistantships in exchange for tuition reimbursement.
- Create a capstone project customized to your professional interests and goals.
