About
Communication is a top skill requested by employers in almost every career field. [Soft Skills: The Competitive Edge | U.S. Department of Labor] Communication majors at Spalding can choose from two tracks: Communication Studies and Media Studies. Optimize your opportunities in seeking a specific marketplace niche. You will collaborate with your faculty advisor to craft your course selection in line with your professional goals. Beyond this, you will have opportunities for hands-on learning, working with top employers in the area for internships. When you graduate, you’ll be prepared to jump start your career or begin graduate school.
Concentrations
- Communication studies — Communication Studies course of study which allows students to design a program in tandem with the student’s professional goals. Students take the required major classes and then choose specialized communication courses.
- Media studies — Media Studies includes the study of film and media criticism, both in theory and in history. A range of other media subjects will also be addressed, including comic books, video games, social media and political campaigns and others.
