The Honors Scholar Program at Spalding University brings the best and brightest together in a collaborative community, thriving off more complex, in-depth, and enriched course material. Honors students learn and gain the ability to demand more of themselves intellectually and ethically, making a direct impact on their personal and career leadership capabilities, both now and in the future.
Honors Scholars at Spalding connect closely with faculty members in small-sized, in-depth courses in all disciplines and interests. The HSP invites students to expand their vision through interdisciplinary endeavors, professional development opportunities, social engagement, and many other forms of enrichment. Being an Honors Scholar at Spalding is a unique pathway through graduation and beyond.

Admission
- Incoming first-year students with a 3.5+ HS GPA may apply
- Current Spalding or transfer students with a 3.5+ college GPA may apply
- Interested students with a GPA of 3.0-3.49 may apply with a letter of recommendation from a former teacher
Graduating as a Spalding Honors Scholar
- Maintain a 3.5 GPA
- Attend at least one extra-curricular Honors activity in each year
- Complete a minimum of 4 HON seminars (12 credit hours)

Mission of the Honors Scholar Program
The Spalding University Honors Scholar Program encourages students who are motivated to learn about the world from a variety of perspectives to participate in academic and social opportunities that will enhance their college journey. Honors Scholars will be stimulated and supported through special courses and extra-curricular activities with the intention of fostering creativity, leadership skills, community engagement, and a life-long love of learning within an environment that values curiosity, excellence, innovation, collaboration, resilience, and compassionate service.
