Bachelor of Science in Education (BSEd)

Start your career as an elementary, middle or secondary school teacher. We offer education concentrations in learning behavior disorders for P-12 and secondary English, math, social studies, and sciences.

Master of Education (MEd) Teacher Leader

Advance your leadership in education. The MEd — Teacher Leader offers new skills and teaching methods you can immediately and directly apply to your current classroom. This degree is also a stepping stone to principalship or administration.

Master of Education (MEd) in Instructional Leadership

Pursue your principalship certification in Kentucky. Designed for current teachers, you can complete this hybrid program in one year, and it meets the requirements for Kentucky Level 1 Principal Certification and Rank I or Rank II Teacher Certification.

Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)

Both our Traditional and Alternative MAT prepare you to teach in elementary, middle or secondary school—whether you have a bachelor’s in education or not. Areas of study include art, Spanish, and learning and behavior disorders for P-12, and secondary English, math, social studies and sciences.

Master of Education in Learner-Centered Practices

Gain the expertise to develop classrooms that engage students as leaders and decision-makers in their own learning, and identify the requirements of a classroom that supports learner-centered pedagogies.

Doctorate of Education (EdD) in Leadership

Earn your terminal degree to lead strategically, ethically and create meaningful change. This fully online program can be completed in two years and readies you for future leadership roles in a wide variety of fields in the private, public and non-profit sectors.

Master of Arts in School Counseling (MASC)

Be an advocate for students as a school counselor. Gain 100 hours of supervised counseling experience and take this knowledge back into your own career with this ESB-approved program for Provisional and Standard Counseling Certification.

Master of Education in Learner-Centered Systems

Become a leader who is committed to developing organizational systems and structures that realize a learner-centered and equitable model of education, and implement school-specific systems that supports learner-centered pedagogies.

We collaborate with area schools to provide hands-on classroom experience as well as professional and community organizations to prepare you to provide meaningful student learning. As a graduate of the College of Education you will be a leader of lifelong learning in a multicultural society.

In addition, we offer a doctorate in leadership for professionals working in a variety of career fields, including business, health care, social services, the arts and education.

Each level of study in the College of Education offers its own a unique delivery, from the six-week block schedule in the BSEd; the evening, weekend, and summer option for the MAT; the full-time or part-time options for the MASC; the only 30-credit-hour MEd – Teacher Leader; the 9-week, hybrid format in the MEd in Instructional Leadership; or the one-course-at-a-time, full-time online EdD in Leadership.
