July 26th, 2022Spalding Students Train for Modern Integrated Mental Health Approach
July 22nd, 2022As Kentucky faces a need for more well-trained psychologists, Spalding University has created new opportunities for students to enter the field of health service psychology with an emphasis on providing services to communities most in need. To support this work, Spalding University has been awarded a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Graduate Psychology Education (GPE) program. Their award of nearly $1 million over three years will support the new Integrated C.A.R.E. (Community-based, Accessible, Recovery-oriented Education) Program. Funding will provide stipends for doctoral psychology students to train in integrated, interdisciplinary primary care settings (IIPC).

Spalding’s Cultivating Personal Resiliency Program (CPRP) uses evidence-based strategies to reduce and address burnout
June 30th, 2022The COVID-19 pandemic has created a crisis of burnout and mental distress in our healthcare workers, resident physicians, and those training to be healthcare providers. This ongoing crisis has led to a need to enhance the education and training of students going into health related fields by adding instruction on well-being and resiliency. To support these efforts, Spalding University has been awarded a grant over $775,000 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The grant, awarded through the Public Safety Workforce Resiliency Training Program, will provide funding for resiliency training for healthcare students at Spalding University and the University of Louisville’s School of Dentistry.
Spalding Receives Grant to Fund State-of-the-Art Learning Facility
June 22nd, 2022Spalding has been awarded a $300,000 grant from the Legacy Foundation of Kentuckiana to fund the creation of a state-of-the-art Anatomy Education Center (AEC) in the new Kosair Charities School of Physical Therapy and Center for Interprofessional Education.

June 17th, 2022The former Athletic Director Roger Burkman left some big shoes to fill (literally and figuratively), so finding his replacement was no easy task. After interviewing several candidates, the search committee had an internal candidate at the top of the list.
Spalding Unveiled New Roger Burkman Hall of Fame
May 20th, 2022This morning, Spalding University unveiled a new Athletic Hall of Fame in the Columbia Gym. The Hall of Fame is named after Roger Burkman, the retiring athletic director who has been with Spalding for 17 years.
