Message from the Board of Trustees
To the Spalding University Community,
As you know, President Tori Murden McClure will be retiring this summer. Selecting a president is one of the most important responsibilities of the Board of Trustees. The Board has taken the following steps since President McClure announced her retirement:
Established a search committee composed of Board members, faculty and staff.
Conducted listening sessions with campus groups including, faculty, staff, students and alumni.
Held a search committee retreat to develop a candidate profile.
Engaged AGB Search to help conduct the presidential search.
The Board of Trustees voted on Dr. Joanne Berryman to be the Interim President immediately following the retirement of President Tori Murden McClure. Dr. Berryman is a former Spalding University Board of Trustee; she was the founding Dean of the Kosair College of Health and Natural Sciences; she served as Provost and is an alumnus of the Spalding Ed.D. program. Additionally, she is a beloved and respected member of the healthcare network systems in Louisville and across Kentucky. Her visionary leadership and experiential expertise in management, academic leadership, and change agency are what drives her commitment to prepare Spalding University for its next President and future presence in the community and city.
